CHS Agri Service Center is looking forward to the fast approaching harvest season, especially as it leads into the active VRT season.  With the increasing cost of crop nutrients fall season soil sampling and application provides a great opportunity in managing your risk by saving you time, money, and nutrient availability.  Your local CHS Agri Service Center Agronomy department is equipped and ready to handle all your VRT application needs.

CHS Agri Service Center VRT program includes soil sampling, prescription writing, and variable rate application services.  Soil sampling is offered in grid samples or zone samples.  Grid samples are taken every four years in 2.5 acre grid samples or 4.4 acre grids.  Prescriptions are compiled based on the producer’s goals including but not limited to yield goals, fertilizer application every year or every two years, and opportunities to build specific crop nutrients in 5 or 7 year period.  Zone samples are taken yearly, providing for a great opportunity for a producer’s rented acres.  Fields are split up into 5 zones in order to collect a representative sample from each zone; however, for a small additional cost per zone more samples may be taken to meet the producer’s needs.
